In Maths, we have been busy looking at measurement and recording our data on a bar chart. We all had the chance to weigh different types of fruit and then recorded our results.

In English, we have started a live unit called 'The Ghost Thief'. The children are really enjoying this topic and have been very engaged when listening to the podcasts. On Tuesday the children had the opportunity to write their own ghost stories. I was so impressed with their stories and how they built up a spooky atmosphere. A few lucky children had the chance to read their stories to Mrs O'Brien! Next week, the children will be working in groups to create their own 3 episode spooky podcast.

In Science, we have been investigating what materials make good conductors and insulators. The children created a simple circuit and added in various objects to test whether or not they conducted electricity. Next week, we will be making our own switches.

We have been getting very creative this week and have been making Christmas decorations for the tree in the hall. We challenged ourselves to create an origami star out of one sheet of paper and then decorated it with glitter and stickers.

Have a great weekend.

Thank you for everyone who came to watch our Remembrance assembly. I am extremely proud of all the children!

This week in Literacy the children have been writing a biography for an astronaut who went to Mars. They had to think about the applicants early years, schooling, training and finally the mission to Mars itself. The children have written some fantastic biographies and I'm looking forward to finishing reading them all.

In Maths, we have been looking at adding a 4 digit number by a 4 digit number and using rounding to help our addition. Next week, we will look at weight measurement

In science, the children identified and drew all the symbols for electrical components. The children enjoyed playing splat to show off what they had learned. We created a human circuit to demonstrate how electricity passes through a circuit. I was really impressed with the children's understanding and knowledge on this topic. We will next look at conductors and insulators.

This week has been Anti-Bullying week. The children designed some beautiful posters describing the types of bullying and created some group role plays to show solutions to bullying.

Have a great weekend!
